My fav commercial when I was a kid. The song was orginally by The New Seekers.

Just another reason why I HATE cops

storm coming
Ryan got pulled over today. No, he wasn't speeding. Yes, he was buckled up. Yes, everyone in the truck was doing everything right.

The stupid cop pulled him over because he thought Ryan looked too young to drive. :(

He asked Ryan for his license, and when he called it in he said, "I've got a boy here who looks like he's about 10 years old." And he laughed at Ryan and made fun of him for looking so young before he finally let him go.

:(

If I could just throw up....

My antibiotics make me nauseous. It's worse in the evenings than in the mornings--probably because I take my meds at night. And my sides are sore from all the coughing. And I got my haircut today, and she got a phone call in the middle of cutting it, and when she came back to finish cutting my hair, it's like she forgot what she was doing, and my hair looks like crap. It has huge gaps in it where it's supposed to be layered in the back. Maybe after I wash it and style it myself tomorrow, it will look better.

I ate dinner tonight with Gary and Robin. Chinese. :)

Ryan has been gone all day with my car. Out skating with his friends. He just called; he's on his way home. :)

And it's cold here. I'm sorry, but now that it's after January 1st, it's time for spring. We've already had our three days of winter. As a matter of fact, we've had way more than three days, so it's time to move on. Bring on the warmth.

I need to get something else to drink, but I don't want to get up off the couch.

cough, cough, cough, cough

I have bronchitis.

Yeah, I know, what a surprise. But there's been stuff going around and I guess I picked up something. Everyone's been saying that it was a good thing schools closed for Christmas, because if they hadn't, they would've been closed anyway due to illness.

At least I missed the strep throat. :)

No more breaks till Memorial Day

I'm over at my brother's house. We're listening to Peter Frampton's live KSAN session from April 1975. I'm helping the brother upload stuff for his student teaching portfolio. So far, we've uploaded enough to score 57 points. He needs 87 to pass. A perfect score is 200. He has to turn it in tomorrow. Nothing like waiting till the last minute.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. Ryan informed me that, this year, he was too old for an Easter basket. Yeah, he still wanted goodies, just not in a basket. I let him have his way, but next year, I'm going back to a basket. He may be too old for it, but I'm not. I like being the Easter Bunny.

I like being over here at my brother's. The computer screen is actually bright enough for me to see everyone's web pages, myspace pages, etc. I've been visiting everybody's sites for the past little bit, basking in all the colors. It's been fabulous!

April 21st

Quick update

The boy's foot is all nice and healed. He was back to skateboarding and then........he got some weird upper respiratory infection. Bronchial mycoplasm. ???? Whatever. He's got a stuffy nose and he coughs up all this delightful smelly green stuff. He's taking Biaxin XL and Bidex 400. Yesterday, he got a shot with a combo of antibiotic and Celestone. Very painful. He cried. :(

I've been having to drive to Plain Dealing all week to help with testing. Yeah, this is the week of the big LEAP, iLEAP, and GEE tests. Ryan is taking the iLEAP, so it hasn't been too stressful. I've been helping relieve teachers when they need breaks. Such a good use of my time. :( On the bright side though, I did get a lovely drawing of two unicorns kissing alongside a prince and princess (color coordinated to match their unicorns) who were also kissing. Yeah. Bet none of you got anything like that this week. :)

This guy, Leighton, is a friend of mine

I saw him today when I took Ryan for his guitar lessons. I'd like to say that he's doing well, but mostly he's just drugged up on painkillers. Of course, you would be, too.

I love my boy

Shreveport Rose
Ryan and his friends saw Nickelback this past Wednesday (Ryan's first concert sans Mom). They loved it. Because they all bought tickets at different times, some of them were on the floor (general admission-standing, no assigned seats) and some of them were in the nosebleed sections. They walked around till the opener came on, then when the lights went out, they jumped the rail to the floor, and got as close as they could to the stage. Then they danced their asses of all night, carefully keeping an eye out for Ryan's foot so no one would step on it.

They had so much fun, they've spent the past few days looking online to see when/where all their favorite bands are playing. They're trying to plan roadtrips!!!! It almost hurt me to have to nix their plans---sorry boys, you don't have jobs so therefore you don't have money, and you can't miss school.

David's response to the whole thing? "At times, I think he's more your child than mine."

Yeah, buddy, buddy.

iPod question

Shreveport Rose
Ryan has an iPod mini. His friend, Matt, has an iPod nano. Matt is trying to download music from Ryan's iTunes onto his iPod. There are 432 songs on the playlist; only 86 of them will load onto Matt's iPod. We keep getting an error message that reads: Attempting to copy to the disk "Mattt's" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.

What do I need to do?
